Park Maintenance

Parks are vitally important to establishing and maintaining the quality of life in our community, promoting the health of families and youth, and contributing to the economic and environmental well-being of our City. The City maintains 17 developed parks for a combined total of 810 acres of parkland.

Park landscape maintenance services include urban forest management, turf management, plant and shrub management, water resource management via climate-based central irrigation control and irrigation system maintenance, integrated weed and pest management, and litter management.

Additional Park maintenance categories include:

  • Park site furnishings
  • Playgrounds/tot lots
  • Sports infrastructure/sports field turf
  • Park and nature trails
  • Hardscape maintenance
  • Graffiti abatement in City Parks
  • Painting
  • Fencing/fabrication
  • Vandalism repairs
  • Special Event support

The Landscape Maintenance Section oversees private contractors who provide much of the City’s landscape maintenance services. City staff ensure contractor compliance and provide specialized maintenance services throughout the City’s urban grounds and green spaces.
