Citations
You are required by law to keep your address with the DMV current. If you move, you must provide the new address to DMV within 10 days. If you do not notify DMV of a move and reminder notices were sent to your old address, you are still responsible for any late fees added to your citation.
If you were the registered vehicle owner at the time the ticket was issued, you are responsible for the ticket.
Common vehicle violations include, but are not limited to:
- Not displaying the current month and/or year tabs on your license plate. This citation is for current tabs improperly displayed, not for failing to pay vehicle registration fees [CVC 5204].
- CVC requires that all vehicles display two license plates, one attached to the rear and one attached to the front of the vehicle [CVC 5200].
- Vehicles cannot be parked in the same parking space for more than 72 hours. [CVC 22651(k)].
The Administrative Citation was established as an alternative to criminal prosecution in certain circumstances, such as failure to maintain front yard landscaping, public nuisance or illegal dumping.
A person violating any provision of the Palmdale Municipal Code or applicable State Code may be issued an administrative citation. Each and every day that a violation occurs constitutes a separate and distinct offense.
Fees or fines that are not paid by the due date may be referred to a collection agency usually 90 days after the original due date. A delinquent citation is assessed 35% of the original fee, which is added to the fine, for collection and recovery costs.
Pay Your Citation
- By Mail: City of Palmdale, c/o Parking Citation Service Center, P.O. Box 11923, Santa Ana, CA 92711. Check, money order, or cashier’s check made payable to City of Palmdale. Please note the citation number(s) on the face of your check or money order.
- By Credit Card: Visa and MasterCard are accepted through our automated telephone system, 1-866-420-2894. Credit card payments can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Pay In-Person: Visit City of Palmdale, Neighborhood Services Compliance Office, 38250 Sierra Highway, Second Floor. Credit card payments are accepted at this location.

Avoid Additional Fines/Citations
Ensure the violation you were cited for is quickly corrected
You may request an extension to allow you additional time to correct a violation before receiving another citation by emailing the officer assigned to the case or by calling Neighborhood Compliance at (661)267-5436. Please make sure to include/have readily available all the information related to the case (case number, property address, etc.). Depending on the violation and the progress that has been made to correct the violation, not more than 30 days additional time is granted.
Avoid Late Payment Fees
Parking Citations: Action on a parking citation must be made within 21 calendar days of receiving the citation or within 14 days of receiving the Reminder Notice of Delinquent Parking Citation. A delinquent citation is assessed with a fee, which is added to the fine, for collection and recovery costs. Fees or fines that are not paid by the due date may be referred to a collection agency usually 90 days after the original due date. California Department of Motor Vehicles will be notified of each outstanding citation and will refuse to renew your California vehicle registration.
Administrative Citations: Action on an administrative citation must be made within 20 days from issuance. A delinquent citation is assessed 35% of the original fee, which is added to the fine, for collection and recovery costs. Fees or fines that are not paid by the due date may be referred to a collection agency usually 90 days after the original due date.
