Traffic & Transportation

Transportation manages a broad range of multimodal transportation projects including transit-oriented development (TOD), rail, airport and other transportation infrastructure components. The division seeks out, applies for, and manages transportation grant projects, and is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with regional, state and federal agencies regarding transportation matters.

Safe transportation is a key component of a well-designed city. As part of this effort, Traffic and Transportation designs, operates, maintains, and coordinates the City’s traffic signal system. It recommends the installation of signs and striping; assists in the planning of new infrastructure via the City’s Capital Improvement Program; and works with the community on neighborhood traffic issues.
