High Speed Rail Overview

Bird's Eye View of HSR from Palmdale to Burbank

The future arrival of the California High Speed Rail system, including a multi-modal high-speed rail station near the Palmdale Transportation Center (PTC), will transform the way residents live, work and recreate in the City of Palmdale / Antelope Valley. High-speed rail service to the San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles basin will provide greatly needed travel options for commuters. High-speed rail combined with Brightline West high speed rail, expanded Metrolink, Amtrak, Greyhound, FlixBus, other bus/transit services, and improvements to key arterials and freeways, will help reduce congestion and air pollution, and provide better travel options for residents.

Regional plans include connecting Brightline West to the California High Speed Rail system in Palmdale via the High Desert Corridor route from Apple Valley, with the line terminating in Las Vegas. As a result, Palmdale / Antelope Valley residents will be able to travel to Las Vegas, and potentially beyond, via Brightline West in the future.  Note: funding and construction details are to be determined.
